Honorable Kabiru Adjoto, the former factional Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, has been dealt a severe blow by his own party. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken the unprecedented step of suspending him indefinitely amidst allegations of anti-party activities and misappropriation of party funds and Christmas palliatives.
In a press statement made available to Truth Live News on Friday, the People’s Democratic Party’s Chairman in Igarra Ward, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Prince Kayode Ogunnubi communicated the suspension indefinitely. His actions were deemed detrimental to the party’s interests and integrity, leading to swift disciplinary action.
The Ward Chairman of the PDP expressed profound disappointment over Adjoto’s alleged misconduct. He emphasized the party’s commitment to upholding transparency, accountability, and loyalty among its members, regardless of their status or former positions.
Furthermore, investigations into the purported embezzlement of party funds and Christmas palliatives are underway, with the PDP vowing to pursue legal avenues to ensure justice is served and the misappropriated resources are recovered.
