In a shocking revelation, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming September 21 election, finds himself entangled in a complex web of political office sharing. Reports indicate that Okpebholo has made promises to four individuals, all former governorship aspirants, offering them his senatorial seat in exchange for their support in his bid for governorship.

Truth Live News gathered that Arc is among those mentioned in the scandal. Mike Onolememen, a former Minister of Works, has reportedly agreed to Okpebholo’s proposal. This agreement has led to Onolememen’s sudden declaration of support for Okpebholo despite earlier promises to support the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo.

The motive behind Onolememen’s switch appears to be the allure of the senatorial seat, as it is revealed that he is set to take over Okpebholo’s position in the National Assembly. The others so promised are former APC and Rt. Hon Festus Ebea, who promised to take over as the House reps member, took over from Odi Okojie, whom the source said had agreed on a one-term. Joe Ikpea and Victor Eboigbe, among those former aspirants, Okpebholo, promised the senate seat.

This revelation has caused a stir within political circles, particularly among those directly involved. Hon. Okojie, the current House of Representatives member, is said to be unsettled by the news. However, assurances have been given that he will be taken care of if he helps deliver the Uromi vote for Okpebholo.

In the midst of this scandal, questions arise about loyalty and integrity within the political landscape of Edo State. Will Okpebholo’s tactics backfire, or will he emerge victorious in the upcoming election despite the controversy surrounding his campaign? Only time will tell.
