The leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo North have expressed their support for the Ighodalo/Ogie ticket. This indicates that they are backing these candidates, likely for upcoming elections. Such endorsements are significant as they can influence voter behavior and strengthen the candidates’ political standing in the region.

Mr. Mike Oghiadomhe, the chairman of the forum, pledged support for the Ighodalo/Ogie ticket at Sabogida Ora, the headquarters of Owan West Local Government Area. He made this promise while addressing newsmen shortly after inaugurating campaign committees in the seven local government areas of the Edo North Senatorial District. This indicates a strong organizational effort and a unified front in promoting their candidates.

Mr. Mike Oghiadomhe highlighted that the leaders from Edo North were the first to support the zoning of the PDP governorship ticket to Edo Central. This demonstrates their commitment to the party’s strategic decisions and emphasizes their role in promoting regional balance and inclusivity within the party’s candidate selection process.

He stated that the rotation of power among the various regions in the state is essential to fostering unity and peace among the people. This approach aims to ensure fair representation and inclusivity, promoting harmony and a sense of shared governance across the state.

He further emphasized the importance of power rotation by saying, “We don’t want what is happening in Benue to happen in Edo State. We have many of them living in Edo State.” This statement reflects concerns about potential conflicts or instability arising from unequal power distribution, underscoring the need for balanced and inclusive governance to maintain peace and harmony within Edo State.

Further more, he expressed concerns about insecurity, stating, “Their home state is no longer conducive for them to stay. We donā€™t need such an atmosphere of insecurity in Edo State. We are one, and everything should be done to unite the people.” This underscores the necessity of fostering a secure and harmonious environment in Edo State by promoting unity and inclusive governance.

He strongly condemned the anti-party activities of certain individuals and groups who had previously sabotaged the electoral fortunes of the PDP. He asserted that the party is now more united and stronger than before. This denunciation highlights the commitment to party unity and integrity, reinforcing the message that the PDP is focused on moving forward cohesively.
