Saintmoses Eromosele, a prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Esan Central LGA, Ewu Ward 8, and a former aspirant for the Edo State House of Assembly, has resigned from the party.
Eromosele, also known as SME, had previously stepped down for Victor Edoror in his bid for the assembly ticket.
In his resignation letter to Mr. Wahab Adamu, the Ward Chairman in Ewu II, Eromosele cited the party’s choice of gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming September election as the primary reason for his departure.
“I cannot in good conscience continue to promote candidates who do not know the difference between a zoo and a museum,” Eromosele wrote.
“While I have nothing personal against these individuals, I believe they are not the best choices the party could have produced at this time. Nor do I prefer them over the candidates that other parties are presenting.”
Eromosele criticized the APC for neglecting and resisting young, vibrant, and bright minds while favoring mediocre, tired, and discredited politicians. He expressed that this sentiment is widely shared among the youth in the party and needs to be addressed.
He thanked the APC for the opportunities it had given him to serve but expressed frustration with the current difficulties in the country, which he believes make it impossible for decent people to support the APC in future elections.
“With the extreme difficulty in the country today, it is impossible for any decent person to promote APC without appearing ‘somehow’ to people,” he added.
Eromosele did not specify if he would be joining the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but stated that he would focus on personal development, family, faith, further education, and business.
