Uromi was brought to a standstill today as the campaign team of governorship candidate Asuerinme Ighodalo made a grand entrance in the city. The streets were filled with a sea of supporters, waving flags and chanting slogans in support of the PDP candidate.
Truth Live News gathered that the highlight of the event was the defection of a political big wig: The former Deputy Commissioner of Police, and former president NURTW, Alhaji Musa Isiwele officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This high-profile defection is a major boost for Ighodalo’s campaign and grassroot traction and a significant setback for the APC.
Alhaji Isiwele, former APC chieftain and leader of the Muslim Community in Uromi, appreciated the PDP stakeholders present and pledged to work for the landslide victory of Asue Ighodalo.
In return, Barr Asue Ighodalo assured him that pdp will not fail them and Edo will prosper .
Chants of “ It’s all over , It’s all over “ filled the air as supporters have made a forgone conclusion that the September 21 gubernatorial election has been won following the gale of defections of grass root canvassers and party chieftains to join the already teeming ranks of the Ighodalo/Ogie ticket.
