Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the upcoming September 21 governorship election in Edo State, has mourned the unexpected demise of Hon. Brodricks Emuze Ihenisekhen, Secretary of the Igueben Local Government Area. The tragic news of his passing was announced on Thursday.
Dr. Ighodalo conveyed his heartfelt condolences in a statement released to Truth Live News by his media team on Friday. He expressed profound shock and sadness over the sudden death of Hon. Ihenisekhen, highlighting the deep impact of his loss on the PDP community and the Igueben LGA.
“I received the sad news of the passing of our beloved brother with deep shock and sadness. The suddenness of the whole thing makes it all the more painful. There’s no doubt, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) family in Igueben has lost a really dedicated, warm, affectionate and compassionate leader in the person of Hon. Brodricks Emuze Ihenisekhen, the Secretary to the Igueben Local Government Area,” Ighodalo stated.
He further extended his condolences to the immediate and extended family of the deceased, emphasizing the significant void left by Ihenisekhen’s untimely departure.
“Our thoughts are with the immediate and extended family at this trying moment of theirs and the whole Igueben LGA PDP family. This sad event has occurred at the time we all need his services, words of advice, and his ability to mobilize people for any occasion by the party. While we pray for the peaceful repose of his gentle and amiable soul, we also ask God Almighty to grant his immediate family, friends, and relatives the fortitude and grace to bear the irreplaceable loss. I urge all of us in Igueben to accept this sad development with philosophical equanimity knowing full well that we all will one day pay this debt individually,” Ighodalo admonished.
Dr. Ighodalo also expressed his sympathy to the Executive Chairman of Igueben Local Government Council, Hon. (Engr) Clement Asuelimhen, and all the council staff, praying that such tragic news remains distant from them.
Hon. Brodricks Emuze Ihenisekhen passed away on Wednesday evening, June 19, 2024. He was revered as a vital connector between the older and newer generations of politicians and was a prominent youth mobilizer in the region. His alliance and strategic partnership with State Governor Godwin Obaseki were notable, underscoring his influential role in local politics.
In the wake of his passing, the Igueben chapter of the PDP suspended all political activities on Thursday, June 20, 2024, to honor his memory. Hon. Ihenisekhen is survived by his parents, wife, children, brothers, and sisters.
