Igueben Chairman Congratulates King Usifo Over Coronation as Onogie of Ebelle

In a historic event that showcased the cultural heritage and unity of Edo State, Hon. Clement Asuelimen, Executive Chairman of Igueben Local Government, gave a remarkable speech at the coronation ceremony and staff of office presentation to His Royal Highness, King David Osifo Imadojiemu, the Onogie of Ebelle Kingdom.

The ceremony, held on Thursday, June 27th, 2024, was graced by the presence of His Excellency, Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, alongside several dignitaries including the Hon. Commissioner of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs and local government chairmen.

While addressing the distinguished gathering, Hon. Clement Asuelimen expressed profound joy in welcoming guests to the historic occasion. He extended heartfelt congratulations to King David Osifo Imadojiemu on behalf of the people of Igueben Local Government, emphasizing the significance of the coronation as a moment eagerly awaited by the Ebelle community and Esan Land at large.

“The coronation of His Royal Highness signifies not only a traditional rite of passage but also a pivotal moment for fostering peace and unity within the Ebelle clan,” remarked Hon. Asuelimen, highlighting the role of traditional institutions in maintaining harmony and upholding cultural values.

While also acknowledging Governor Obaseki’s immense commitment to advancing the traditional institution across Edo State, Hon. Asuelimen pledged unwavering support from Igueben Local Government in strengthening the region’s traditional institutions. He urged royal fathers and chiefs present to uphold peace and promote governmental initiatives aimed at community development.

In his address, Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, represented by Hon. Monday Osaigbovo, lauded the cultural significance of the occasion and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to supporting traditional institutions as pillars of societal cohesion and development.

The highlight of the event was the formal presentation of the Staff of Office to His Royal Highness, King David Osifo Imadojiemu, symbolizing his ascension to the revered position of Onogie of Ebelle Kingdom. The gesture marked a renewed commitment to leadership and service to the people of Ebelle.
