Early Sunday morning, a group of armed terrorists launched a violent attack on the Guto area of Bwari Area Council in Abuja, resulting in one fatality and the abduction of four others.
Sources indicate that the assault began shortly after midnight and affected the Guto, Piyawe, Tudun-Fulani, and Sabon Gari communities. Witnesses reported that over 30 attackers, divided into two groups, entered the area via swamp routes, catching residents by surprise.
Among the victims was Madam Alice, a woman in her forties visiting her ailing mother. She was tragically killed during the attack. Additionally, two people were kidnapped from their homes in Guto, and another person was taken from Tudun-Fulani, located just a kilometer from the council’s Secretariat.
Residents expressed frustration over the slow response from security forces. Despite multiple calls to the Bwari divisional headquarters, assistance did not arrive promptly, leaving locals feeling vulnerable and abandoned during the hour-long ordeal.
