The Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Organisation has reiterated that the party’s governorship ticket, comprising Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie Esq, remains valid and intact, despite a recent Federal High Court ruling on the party’s delegate election.
The court’s judgment, described as “strange” and “contrary to appellate court decisions”, did not invalidate the outcome of the party’s primary election held on February 22, 2024, the party stated.
The PDP expressed confidence that the decision would not survive an appeal, citing a history of similar decisions being overturned by appellate courts.
The party urged its members and supporters to remain calm and ignore “mischief makers” spreading false information, assuring that the truth would be revealed in due time.
The campaign organisation reiterated that the primary election outcome remains valid, and the Asue-Ogie ticket remains the party’s flagbearers for the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.
