PDP Counsel, Akinlolu Kehinde, has clarified the outcome of the Federal High Court case in Abuja, stating that the court did not nullify Asue Ighodalo’s candidacy as the PDP gubernatorial candidate.
In a viral 53-second video, Kehinde explained that Ighodalo emerged as the winner with 577 votes in the primary election held at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, which was recognized by INEC and the PDP NEC.
The court, according to him, only acknowledged that some delegates were excluded from participating in the primary, but established that these delegates lacked the legal standing to challenge the primary under Section 84(14), as they were not aspirants in the election themselves.
The seasoned legal luminary, however, stressed the fact that the counsel to the delegates may face disciplinary action for their actions.
