In a landmark decision, the Federal High Court in Abuja affirmed Dr. Asue Ighodalo’s candidacy as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nominee for the upcoming Edo State Governorship election on September 21, 2024. The ruling, delivered on Wednesday, has been met with widespread acclaim from the Team Asue Media Organization (TAMO).
TAMO, in a statement from Benin City, praised the judgment, describing it as a significant victory for democracy and the rule of law. “This decision upholds the integrity of the PDP Governorship primary held on February 22, 2024, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City,” the statement read. “It’s a triumph for the democratic process.”
The court’s decision has ignited spontaneous celebrations across Edo State, with many residents expressing their support for Dr. Ighodalo. “The joy and enthusiasm we’ve seen is a testament to Dr. Ighodalo’s popularity and the public’s desire for his leadership.
