Benin City, Edo State
Ekpoma, a usually serene community, was transformed into a vibrant jamboree as the PDP Edo State candidate Barr. Asue Ighodalo and his deputy Barr. Osarodion Ogie visited Ekpoma Ward 4. The campaign visit turned into a festival with attendees dressed in bright-colored attire and engaging in spirited dances that reflected the community’s rich cultural heritage.
Truth Live News gathered that numerous dignitaries and PDP chieftains were present at the event, chaired by High Chief Patrick Agbator. The women, arrayed in beautiful, custom-made party regalia, chanted songs of victory in anticipation of the September 21 elections. The arrival of Barr. Asue Ighodalo and his deputy was reminiscent of veteran gladiators entering the colosseum, with chants of ‘Esan Oyee’ echoing for miles.
In his composed demeanor, Barr. Asue Ighodalo expressed gratitude to the leaders, chieftains, and stakeholders for their presence and support. He emphasized, “This is our project, and it will be our victory.” He promised to elevate and upgrade Ambrose Alli University to world-class standards, noting that the school has the potential to revolutionize the city’s economy. “The people have to be behind you for you to succeed. No amount of capability you have matters if you are not accessible to the people. You need to earn their trust and commit to working in their favor,” he stated.
When asked about his chances of winning, he confidently affirmed his optimism, attributing his potential success to the support of the voters and divine help.
As his convoy departed, the entire city was shut down with bikers, motorists, women, and youths singing his praises, marking a memorable day for Ekpoma.
