The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election, Asue Ighodalo, has assured the sons and daughters of the state in the diaspora of banking on their wealth of experiences in driving the development of the state, urging them to brace up for the task ahead.

He gave the assurance while engaging the Edo Diaspora Community in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

Ighodalo, while reeling out their importance in his would-be government, assured them that his plan is to ensure that they contribute meaningfully to the development of the state by creating the enabling environment for them to thrive.

The governorship candidate who explained in detail his vision for Edo State as encapsulated in the “Pathway to Prosperity for All” manifesto, said, the existing State Security Trust Fund will be strengthened and improved upon to ensure the safety of life and property of the citizens of the state.

Talking about the well-being of the citizens as another pillar of his manifesto, Ighodalo stressed that all would be done to ensure the welfare of the people through the provisions of amenities that make life and living worthwhile.

He assured the diaspora community that he would set up economic development agencies in the three senatorial zones to maximise the comparative advantages of each zone while also boosting the state’s tourist sector to gear up the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the state.
