The Edo State Police Command has dismissed rumors circulating on social media suggesting that the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo PSC(+), has disbanded the Edo Security Network.
In a statement released to Truth Live News on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Joel Yamu, the Command emphasized that the information is false, misleading, and designed to incite unnecessary tension within the state.
The Command reassured the public that CP Edwin-Iwo remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Edo State residents. It urged citizens to stay calm and vigilant while cautioning against the spread of unverified and baseless rumors.
The police further called on residents to report any suspicious activities to authorities, warning that those engaging in the dissemination of false information would face the full weight of the law.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated the commitment of the Edo Police Command to maintaining law and order and ensuring a peaceful environment for all inhabitants of the state.
