In a significant transfer move, Chelsea FC has reached an agreement with Atlético Madrid to sign João Félix on a permanent deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Portuguese forward will travel to London within the next 24-48 hours to undergo a medical and sign a six-year contract until June 2030, with an option to extend until 2031.
Romano revealed that the agreement was reached after exclusive news linked João Félix to Chelsea as part of a deal involving Conor Gallagher, who will join Atlético Madrid.
“João Félix will travel and undergo medical in 24/48h before signing a six-year deal valid until June 2030,” Romano stated.
The transfer marks a significant coup for Chelsea, who have secured a talented player in João Félix. The 24-year-old forward has been a key player for Atlético Madrid since joining from Benfica in 2019.
His return to Chelsea, where he had a successful loan spell last season, will bolster the club’s attacking options.
As Romano noted, “João Félix to travel to London and return to Chelsea as he wanted.” The transfer is a testament to the player’s desire to play for Chelsea and the club’s determination to secure his services.
The deal is expected to be finalized shortly, pending a successful medical.
