The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship campaign council turned Iguobazuwa, the headquarters of Ovia South West Local Government Area, into a political fiesta as Nollywood star Nosa Rex joined the campaign to support Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Barrister Osarodion Ogie.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State led the charge, accompanied by serving members of the Edo State Executive Council and the Edo State House of Assembly.

Addressing a sea of supporters, Governor Obaseki assured the people of Ovia South West of adequate security during and after the election.

“I assure the people of Ovia South West that your votes will count. This is not what they did before; we will checkmate them,” he declared, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to fair elections.

Governor Obaseki also made a passionate plea for continuity, urging voters to choose PDP to sustain the progress made in education, technology, agriculture, and power.

“I cannot finish everything as a government, so I have brought someone with competence and capacity Asue Ighodalo,” the governor added.

PDP’s Edo State Vice Chairman, Hon. Harrison Omoagbon, echoed the governor’s sentiments, promising that Ovia South West would deliver a massive vote for PDP in gratitude for the achievements of the Obaseki administration. “The votes from Ovia South West will be massive to say thank you to Governor Godwin,” Omoagbon said confidently.

Adding a touch of celebrity to the event, Nollywood actor Nosa Rex expressed his support for the PDP candidates. “I am here to support Asue and Ogie because they will help the entertainment industry,” he remarked, signaling his confidence in their leadership.

In his response, Dr. Asue Ighodalo thanked the people of Ovia South West for their overwhelming support. “I am back home. I was here before as one of the board members of Okomu Farm, so I understand the dynamics here. Myself and Ogie will continue from where the governor stopped. We will make life easier for everyone by the grace of God,” Ighodalo assured.

He further promised to provide security for life and property, distinguishing his campaign from the opposition. “While ‘they’ promised you insecurity, we will provide security for our dear state to attract more investors,” Ighodalo boldly stated.
