Benin City, Edo State
The fate of the APC candidacy in the upcoming Edo State election is uncertain as its candidate, Monday Okpebholo, has been summoned to court for allegedly making false statements on oath regarding his date of birth.
Truth Live News gathered that a magistrate court in Wuse 2, Abuja, on the 12th of September, summoned the APC gubernatorial candidate to appear before it on charges of making false statements under oath. This may be connected to his double date of birth on his certificate or other discrepancies in his documents.
This could potentially disqualify him from running in the election, leaving the party without a candidate for the crucial contest on September 21st. The court case raises questions about the integrity of the candidate and the party’s ability to field a viable contender in the upcoming election.
