Former Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, is embroiled in a personal and professional crisis as his son, Abba Bichi, reportedly made off with $2 million (N3 billion) from a safe in his father’s home.

According to report by investigave journalist Ude Jackson, the shocking incident allegedly occurred shortly after Bichi’s dismissal was announced by President Bola Tinubu.

Sources within the DSS confirmed that Abba, who was familiar with where his father stored large sums of money obtained from politicians, took advantage of the situation. The moment he learned of his father’s dismissal, Abba reportedly rushed to the house, broke into the safe, and fled with the box filled with cash.

The scandal doesn’t end there. The former DG’s Chief Security Officer, Mr. Adamu, has also been detained for allegedly pilfering thousands of dollars from Bichi’s office. According to sources, Adamu was caught red-handed trying to smuggle out bundles of cash from the former DG’s office.

Although Adamu’s theft is still under investigation, several DSS insiders have confirmed Abba’s brazen heist. Abba, known for his extravagant lifestyle, reportedly lives in a Maitama apartment with a rent of $80,000 a year. Despite his attempts to break into professional soccer, Abba has struggled in his career.
