Igiode Community Rallies Behind PDP Ahead of Edo Governorship Election

In a show of overwhelming support, thousands of Igiode community members gathered at Engr D Dee Ilugbekha’s residence to pledge their backing for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo.

The event, which brought together prominent leaders and residents of Ward 3, Etsako East, highlighted the community’s rejection of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Monday Okpebholo.

Engr Ilugbekha emphasized Dr. Ighodalo’s credibility and acceptability, contrasting him with the APC candidate, who has faced criticism for lacking vision and clear ideas.

Attendees, including Senior High Chiefs and notable community leaders, Chief Lucky Aigbudumhe, Acting Ogie-Okugbe of Ogiode, who also doubles as PDP Chairman of ward 3, Chief Alana Odhiogwemho, Chief Aseidu Clement, SSA to Edo State Governor, Madam, Rose Adumhi, amongst others.

In a symbolic gesture, some APC members present publicly renounced their party affiliation, burning their membership materials and pledging support for Dr. Ighodalo.

With the governorship election just days away, Igiode community has sent a clear message: they stand firmly behind the PDP and are ready to defend their votes.
