In a powerful message to his Ovia PDP political family, Senator Ehigie Uzamere has expressed deep appreciation for their unwavering support during the last gubernatorial election, despite facing federal pressure and intimidation. The former senator, a prominent figure in Edo politics, lauded the resilience of the Ovia PDP members, noting that their determination had delivered significant victories, not only in their local government but across the entire state of Edo.

In a statement made available to Truth Live News, while reflecting on past political battles, Senator Uzamere drew parallels to the 2012 Edo State gubernatorial election when former Governor Adams Oshiomhole of the then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), now APC, sought re-election against a PDP-led federal government.

He recalled how then-President Goodluck Jonathan upheld the sanctity of the electoral process by not interfering, allowing Oshiomhole’s re-election. Jonathan’s prompt congratulation of Oshiomhole, despite their party differences, was seen as a hallmark of democratic integrity. This example, Uzamere stressed, should serve as a guiding principle for PDP members today as they fight to reclaim what they believe is a stolen mandate.

“We must remain steadfast and determined,” Uzamere passionately urged. “With God on our side, we shall win.” He encouraged his fellow party members to stay committed to the PDP’s values and expressed confidence that, just as Oshiomhole overcame political odds in the past, the PDP will emerge victorious in the present.

The senator, a longtime supporter and stakeholder of Asue Ighodalo, emphasized the importance of unity, perseverance, and faith. He reiterated his unwavering belief that, through collective efforts and divine intervention, the PDP will reclaim its rightful place in Edo State politics.

“Thank you once again, and may God continue to bless us,” Uzamere concluded, calling for solidarity among the Ovia PDP family as they navigate the challenges ahead. “May God’s will be done.”

This heartfelt call to action from one of Edo’s seasoned political leaders underscores the PDP’s resolve to fight for justice and fairness, reinforcing the belief that no matter the current obstacles, the future holds promise for a triumphant return.
