C’River’s PHCDA Boost Workers’ Morale With Capacity Building Workshop In Calabar

CALABAR: The Cross River Primary Health Care Development Agency and partners have organized a one day capacity and sensitization workshop for its Local Government Area Health Education Officers.

Also, the State PHCDA conducted a Social Mobilization Network and planned statewide integrated measles campaign in the State.

Moreover, reports have it that the workshop held on Wednesday had an interactive training/planning session with participants drew from the 18 LGA of the State.

The Director General of the Agency, Dr Vivien Mesembe Otu, announced the Integrated Measles Campaign scheduled from 5th to 15th October, 2024 in Calabar.

Truth Live News learned that Centres include all health facilities, schools, workshops and other designated centres across the State.

Represented by the State’s Social Mobilization Officer, Mrs Nsa Ekpenyong, the DG also said “As you leave this room today, I charge you to go home and back to your stations to educate our people on the safety and efficiency of these vaccines.”

Also , she charged the participants to promote the exercise anywhere they go, and ensure they mobilize eligible age for vaccination.

“Remember, measles is for 9 months to 59 months old, routine immunization is from zero to 23 months,” she instructed.

She equally, announced that HPV will be administered to young girls from 9 years to 14 years.

Meanwhile, the Acting State Coordinator, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Mrs. Idorenyin Nta, said that the implementation of the statewide Integrated Measles Campaign will be a success.
