Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has sent a heartfelt condolence message to Governor, Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State over the passing of his wife, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno. She was compassionate and well loved,” Governor Obaseki said in a statement.
“She championed many humanitarian causes, notably the ‘Golden Initiative for All,’ which provided succor to the weak and vulnerable in society through programmes targeted at alleviating poverty and improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the people of Akwa Ibom State.”
Governor Obaseki praised Mrs. Umo Eno’s tireless efforts in building a fair and just society, supporting her husband in providing leadership and direction to advance the fortunes of the people of Akwa Ibom State.
On behalf of the people of Edo State, Governor Obaseki commiserated with Governor Umo Eno, the people of Akwa Ibom State, friends, and well-wishers, praying that God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
This condolence message comes as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also expressed his sympathy to Governor Umo Eno.
The outpouring of support reflects the impact of Mrs. Umo Eno’s humanitarian work and her role as a respected First Lady.
