C’River Announces Plans To Replace ‘Operation Akpakwu With Operation Akwuöók,’ Holds Prayers For LG Elections

CALABAR: In the coming days, Cross River State would be launching a new security operation code-named ‘Operation Akwuöók’ to replace ‘Operation Akpakwu.’

The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, announced this to Cross Riverians at the Duke Town Presbyterian Church where he held Christian Thanksgiving Service to mark the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary.

On Sunday, 29th September 2024, the Governor said that “the ship of Cross River State is sailing in the right direction.”

Although, he spoke through his Deputy Rt Hon. Peter Odey, he went further to disclose how both Tinapa and the Obudu Cattle Ranch were being revamped.

A report by Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Fred Abua, Esq. On 29th September, 2024 said that the current administration inherited security challenges and thanked service commanders in the state for their remarkable contributions.

Made available to Truth Live News on social media, the report urged Cross Riverians to remain resolute in their belief in Nigeria’s prosperous future.

It said there are verifiable evidence to prove that the state had made progress in agriculture, healthcare, and transportation sectors.

The Prelate of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria and Moderator of General Assembly, His Eminence, Rev. Dr Ekpenyong Akpanika, said infrastructural decay across the country led to what he called the ‘jakpa’ phenomenon.

Rev. Akpanika, spoke on the topic: “Building the Nigeria of our Dreams”, and pointed out that Nigerians lack conviction, commitment and consistency to build a state and nation of our dreams.

He noted that the best brains in Nigeria prefer leaving the country for menial jobs in Europe.

He said he had observed prompt and regular payment of pensioners and civil servants and the serenity of the state capital.

Highpoint was a special session of prayers for the State, Nation and the forthcoming local government elections.
