The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled November 6 for a mock voter accreditation exercise in Ondo State, as part of its preparations for the upcoming governorship election.

In a statement released in Abuja on Thursday, Mr. Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, confirmed the exercise.

He said that the aim is to test the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the transmission of results to INEC’s Result Viewing (IReV) portal using live voters, adding that the mock accreditation will be held in 12 polling units across six local government areas, covering all three senatorial districts in Ondo State.

The selected areas, according to him, include Akure South and Idanre in Ondo Central, Owo and Akoko South-West in Ondo North, and Odigbo and Okitipupa in Ondo South.

He further stated that the exercise will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the designated polling units. Olumekun urged registered voters to bring their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to participate, noting that only voters registered at the specific polling units will be allowed to take part.

INEC has shared a graphic showing the locations of the polling units on its website and social media platforms for public information, he concluded.
