Gov. Eno Hails FG For Choosing A’Ibom Students To Attend International Debate In Singapore

The Akwa Ibom state Governor Umo Bassey Eno, has commended the Federal Government of Nigeria for Choosing Akwa Ibom students to represent Nigeria at the international students bilateral debate in Singapore.

As part of his opening remarks on Day 2 of the 2025 Budget Estimate Review meeting with enlarged State Executive Council, Governor Eno said he “just received word that Students won” the debate competition.

“We thank God for what He is doing for our state and we thank the Ministry of Education and all those that helped those children,” the Governor said.

Ekerete Udoh, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on social media post added that his boss expressed gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Education Professor Tahir Mamman.

According to him, “the federal government had chosen Akwa Ibom to represent it in the international students debate in Singapore.”

“I just received word that our students went and that they won.”

The Akwa Ibom state contingents who represented Nigeria at the 2024 Bilateral Schools Debate held in Singapore, Truth Live News gathered that they include, Aniebiet-Abasi Enobong Etukudo from Government Secondary School, Afaha Eket and Emmanuel Godfrey Wiafe from Community Secondary School, Aka Offot.

Others are Victory Mfonobong Daniel from Nigerian Christian Institute, Favour Daniel Paul from Christian Secondary Commercial School, Uyo and Marvelous Nkereuwem James from Tevees International Secondary School, Uyo.

Meanwhile, The Whistler reported that the State Commissioner for Education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet who earlier received the contingents assured them of the governor’s warm welcome.

“The students’ achievement is another testament to the State Governor’s commitment to education and the future generation, I know,” Etiebet stated.

He added, “the Governor will personally treat these great ambassadors to a warm welcome.The team lead, the coach and the observer were all amazing and we are so proud of them.”

The Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Council, Emmanuel Inyang was also at the airport to receive the students reports said.
