Christopher Tunji Ayeni, also known as CT Ayeni, former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, has lost his life in a fatal road accident.
The tragic incident occurred early Thursday near Ajase-Ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area, while Ayeni was traveling to Ilorin.
Ayeni was driving a Hilux vehicle with an unidentified passenger when the accident happened.
He was a prominent figure in Kwara politics, having served as Deputy Speaker from 1999 to 2000, Commissioner for Agriculture from 2000 to 2003, and Deputy Chief of Staff from 2011 to 2015.
CT Ayeni was also the 2023 House of Representatives candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and had recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). He held the traditional title of Akogun of Isapa Land in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
