Several political groups and residents of Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency have rallied behind Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, urging him to enter the race for the Federal House of Representatives in 2027.
This appeal surfaced during the carnival-like event “A Day With Bibire,” hosted at his Adabeji home in Ibadan yesterday, which drew PDP stalwarts, the Bibire People’s Vision Association, and crowd of residents of Ibadan Southwest and Northwest Federal Constituency and beyond.
Those present at the event articulated their reasons for endorsing Bibire, stressing their unflinching belief in his credibility and proven track record, Truth Live News correspondent gathered.
They noted that, despite not holding an official position, the retired U.S. Navy officer has consistently demonstrated unparalleled commitment to community service and the well-being of his people.
Speaking further, they noted Bibire’s exceptional character, describing him as a man worthy of representing the constituency at the federal level come 2027.
“We have decided to review your activities over the past few years, alongside your vision for the federal constituency, and we found that you have made us proud and truly delighted.
“We considered many factors, with character being paramount. Without a political portfolio, you have remained steadfast in your commitment to helping those in need. You are still the same Bibire we have always known. Without holding an office, you continue to fulfill your promises. You have not changed. We know that money can change people. Time changes people, and lack of being in power can change people. Yet, none of these have changed you in the slightest, and we are proud of you,” they said.
Some PDP members further cemented that Honourable Bibire’s dedication is unique, as he continues to support the party and advocate for the welfare of its members, a rare quality for someone not holding office.
“It is rare to find someone who, despite not holding a political position, actively supports the party and ensures the well-being of its members. He never uses the absence of a political portfolio as an excuse to step back from contributing to the party’s growth. He always prioritizes the party in all his political dealings, which is well-known among all party members,” they stated.
The groups unanimously pledged their support for the distinguished humanitarian, asserting that his representation in 2027 would usher in an era of more progress for the constituency, with addition that this is the path toward a federal constituency that everyone can be proud of.
Reacting, Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire welcomed the endorsement, saying, “Emi Lokan”, and posited that in addition to faithfully serving the party and supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, he considers himself the right choice for the 2027 Federal House of Representatives election.
While expressing gratitude for the endorsement, he reaffirmed his commitment to providing trustworthy leadership that future generations can look up to with pride.
Bibire added that he has remained true to the philosophy and ethos of Omoluabi, which he said continues to guide him to serve the people sincerely and without deceit.
The U.S. IT specialist concluded by stating that “this endorsement would spur me to continue adding value to the lives of the people in the federal constituency while furthering my support for governance in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.”
