The United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has appointed Henrietta Ugboh as an independent non-executive director, with the endorsement of regulatory bodies, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
UBA made the announcement on Wednesday, noting Ugboh’s extensive experience in commercial banking, credit, and risk management.
Henrietta Ugboh, who holds degrees in Economics and Statistics from the University of Benin and an MBA from ESUT Business School, is also an alumna of Harvard Business School’s executive management program. With over 30 years of experience, she has held prominent roles at Citibank and is recognized as an honorary senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and a fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration (FICA).
Tony Elumelu, chairman of UBA, praised Ugboh’s appointment, highlighting her “track record of professional success, integrity, and leadership.”
Elumelu added that Ugboh’s expertise would further strengthen UBA’s board and reinforce the bank’s commitment to robust corporate governance.
