Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has criticized journalists from four countries who did not vote for Vinicius Junior in the 2024 Ballon d’Or voting.
The Brazilian forward lost the award to Rodri in October.
Perez specifically named journalists from Namibia, Uganda, Albania, and Finland, stating that if they had voted, Vinicius would have won the award.
He expressed appreciation for the Finnish journalist, who has since resigned from the jury.
Perez’s comments throw weight behind the controversy surrounding the Ballon d’Or voting process, which, as at this moment, continues to generate debate among football fans worldwide.
