President Joe Biden has pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, who was convicted in two separate federal cases earlier this year.

The White House announced the pardon on Sunday night, with President Biden stating that his son was “treated unfairly” and “selectively prosecuted.”

Hunter Biden, 54, had pleaded guilty to a felony tax case in September and was also found guilty of making a false statement in a gun case.

In response, Biden vowed not to interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, despite watching his son face prosecution.

Now, he has pardoned him, which marks a departure from his previous statements, in which he declared that he would not pardon his son.
