The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has cautioned corps members to avoid engaging in criminal activities during their service year.
Ahmed emphasized that the NYSC scheme is designed for individuals with good morals who are committed to contributing to the development of their host communities.
Speaking at the NYSC Kwara State Orientation Camp, Ahmed warned corps members that violating the NYSC Bye-Law or other laws of the country would result in sanctions, with no immunity for criminal behavior.
He advised corps members to avoid hard drugs, fraud, hooliganism, and other forms of misconduct, and to respect constituted authorities.
The NYSC Kwara State Coordinator, Mr. Joshua Onifade, reported that 1,319 corps members, comprising 593 males and 726 females, were registered at the camp.
Onifade noted that the corps members have demonstrated a high level of discipline and have conducted themselves in an orderly manner since arriving at the camp.
