Edo NAWOJ Chairperson, Ehimuan Charges African Journalists On Constructive Journalism

The Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Edo state Chapter, Comrade Adesuwa Louisa Ehimuan has charged Journalists across the African Continent to focus more on constructive Journalism to develop the continent.

Comrade Adesuwa was speaking during the closing ceremony of the 12th Specialized Training Course For Anglophone Africa Broadcasters organized by the Supreme Council For Media Regulation in Cairo.

Comrade Adesuwa emphasized that Constructive Journalism was a new trend in the media profession that emphasizes the positives, progress and development opportunities in the society.

Adesuwa noted that African Journalists must minimize harmful news reports and encourage productive change and positive psychology.

According to the Edo NAWOJ Chairperson, “Our stories are waiting to be told. As Broadcasters and Digital Journalists, it is out responsibility to amplify our voice, challenge injustice and promote unity and understanding”.

She also called on African Broadcasters to always leverage on technology to tell the positive story on Africa.

The Chairperson who described the training as a unique opportunity to share experiences, listed some benefits of the training to include “content creation, digital marketing, photography and podcast, content analysis and voice overs”.

Earlier in his remark, Ambassador Ahmed Farid, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, encourage all the participants to ensure they impact positively to Africa media and abide by the ethics of the profession.

Participants who were elated, appreciated the The Supreme Council For Media Regulation for 12th Specialised Training Course for Anglophone Africa Broadcasters held in Cairo.

Jevvah Kiplimo Martin from Kenya and Samuella Quartey from Ghana applaud the Organiser for the insightful and educational training.

High point of the event was the presentation of certificates to all participants and group photography.
