The Cross River State Governor Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, has said the ongoing remodeling of government infrastructure was to enable workers to better serve the public and cultivate efficiency.
Governor Otu made this knonw during an Inspection tour of the remodeling infrastructure projects of government in the state.
Chief Press Secretary Nsa Gill, on a social media post reported that he took exception of the design and ambiance of the Local Government Service Commission’s office in Calabar.
According to him, the Governor said that having toured the area, “the quality and standards are exceptional.”
He explained that “Investing in our libraries equates to investing in our future.”
Also, “We must equip our citizens with the tools necessary to thrive in an increasingly competitive world,” Otu urges.
He further stressed the Government’s fundamental mandate to restore all state assets for their intended use.
Moreover, “I am here to oversee the progress of work,” said Governor Otu.
Offices under the remodeling infrastructure include the Governor’s Office complex, the state library, uncompleted Local Government Service Commission office building and Governor’s Lodge as well as a newly asphalted road on Harcourt Street, Calabar South LGA.
For instance, the revamped library will boast updated amenities such as reading areas, computer facilities, e-learning resources, and communal spaces for educational initiatives and exhibitions.
Truth Live News gathered that, the governor has sanctioned over 181 projects, a majority of which are either in progress or in a final stage.
The Special Adviser on Project Monitoring, Mr. Raphael Adoga, stated this when he lauded the governor over the remodeling infrastructure.
“I wish to commend the governor for his dedication to delivering effective governance to the state,” Mr Adoga affirmed.
You would recall that the Governor’s office has been undergoing renovation for the past 18 months.
