Abia State’s Labour Party Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, continues to redefine governance with a strategic inclusion of traditional rulers in his vision for a new Abia.

Truth Live News gathered that in a groundbreaking move, the governor has approved N250,000 as a monthly stipend for traditional rulers across the state. The initiative, praised by the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, is hailed as unprecedented and reflective of Otti’s commitment to grassroots engagement and cultural preservation.

Chairman of the Traditional Rulers’ Council, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, commended Governor Otti’s respect for the traditional institution, noting that no past administration in the state has extended such recognition and support to royal fathers. Eze Mbah further lauded the governor for a one-time Christmas package of N150,000 for each traditional ruler, aimed at supporting them during the festive season.

Governor Otti’s gesture reflects the importance of traditional rulers in maintaining peace, fostering development, and preserving Abia’s cultural heritage. The royal fathers, in turn, have pledged their support in ensuring peace and stability in their domains, aligning with the governor’s broader developmental agenda.

This move is part of Otti’s wider efforts to revamp the state under Labour Party’s progressive governance. From social welfare programs to robust interventions in various sectors, Governor Otti is setting a new standard for leadership in Abia State.

In contrast, the administration swiftly debunked rumors of a N25,000 Christmas package for state civil servants, with the Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, dismissing it as a scam. The statement reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency, urging citizens to rely on official government communication channels.

As Labour Party’s only sitting governor, Alex Otti’s innovative approach highlights the party’s potential to deliver impactful governance. His administration’s alignment with traditional institutions is a testament to his inclusive strategy in driving Abia State’s transformation.
