The Executive Members of Ward 6 in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State have dismissed the purported suspension of Hon. Anamero Dekeri, member representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, saying that they lack the constitutional rights to do so.
They however, unanimously passed a vote of confidence in his leadership.
This development was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Godwin Justice Esho, Publicity Secretary of Ward 6, and other executive members, and made available to Journalists in Benin City.
The statement categorically rejected the suspension initiated by a faction of the party led by Peter Okponekhe, describing it as unconstitutional and lacking in merit.
“Peter Okponekhe and his associates in Etsako East LGA do not possess the constitutional authority to suspend Hon. Anamero Dekeri,” the statement declared.
“In line with the APC Constitution, this vote of confidence by Ward 6 Executives nullify their baseless actions and address the misuse of power and overreach demonstrated by Okponekhe and Idodo Abdurazak, the LGA Publicity Secretary.”
The statement went further to praise Hon. Dekeri’s significant contributions to the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighting his pivotal role in strengthening the party’s presence and operations beyond the local government level.
Ward 6 executives called on party members and the general public to disregard the suspension claims and recognize Hon. Dekeri’s continued leadership within the APC.
This action, they said, reaffirms their commitment to upholding unity and integrity within the party.
