CALABAR – At the both Islamic and Christian 2025 Armed Forces Inter-Denominational Service Governor Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, of Cross River State told Men of the Armed Forces that the Heroes Past “laid down their lives to protect our sovereignty.”
In addition , he said that was to ensure that we experience freedom and maintenance of peace.
Apostle Otu, was represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, who described the event as “a profound reminder of the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform.”
Flowing from the euphoria of the celebration Hon. Odey said “As we commemorate the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. “Today, we honor the heroes of the past and present, those who fought during the Nigerian Civil War, the two World Wars.”
He said that those currently engaging in the battle against insurgency, including the fight against Boko Haram are not in exception.
A social media post of the event by the Chief Press Secretary Nsa Gill, added that the Governor charged the citizenry to remain committed to the values of sacrifice, service, and unity.

“Families of the veterans deserve unwavering support, respect, and care,” Gill stated. For the rest of their lives, considering the values of sacrifice, service, and unity for which they fought.”
According to him, Otu had enjoined all to be models of harmony and progress in line with the sacrifices of the Armed Forces.

While calling for kinetic in military approach to wars, Adelana said “avoid wars and conflicts that lead to the deaths of our brothers and sisters.”
