Omar Marmoush is on the verge of signing with Manchester City after the Premier League club reached a verbal agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt for the striker.

Marmoush is a versatile attacking player who can operate across the front three.

This season, the Egyptian has scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga, just one behind Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane.

Marmoush agreed to a five-year contract in principle with City last week, pending an agreement between the clubs. Frankfurt set a £67.5m (€80m) price tag on the player.

City’s departing sporting director, Txiki Begiristain, held fresh negotiations with Eintracht on Monday, during which the two clubs moved closer to agreeing on a price for Marmoush.

City’s offer on Wednesday is believed to be slightly lower than Frankfurt’s initial demand, in the range of £59m (€70m) fixed, plus £4.2m-£8.4m (€5m-€10m) in add-ons.
