In another development, the Kano State wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rubbished Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa’s efforts to mediate reconciliation between Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
According to the party, Kofa’s initiative is rooted in Kwankwaso’s desire to return to the APC.
In an interview with Hikima Radio, Ahmad S. Aruwa, the APC spokesperson in Kano, described Kofa’s mediation attempt as “political deception.”
He argued there is no need for a political alliance with Kwankwaso, adding that his efforts to rejoin the APC are motivated by a desire to regain control of the party.
Aruwa accused Kwankwaso of previously undermining Malam Ibrahim Shekarau by orchestrating a defection from the APC to the PDP and betraying the trust of party members while in the PDP.
“Looking at how Kofa outlined the achievements and positions held by Kwankwaso and Ganduje, it becomes clear that he is too insignificant to mediate peace between the two,” Aruwa stated.
The spokesperson added that any potential reconciliation between Kwankwaso and Ganduje should involve Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, not Kofa.
