Al-Hilal has announced the termination of Neymar Jr’s contract by mutual consent, ending the Brazilian player’s 18-month stay in Saudi Arabia.
The club expressed gratitude and appreciation for Neymar’s contributions during his time with Al-Hilal and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Neymar’s tenure with Al-Hilal was marred by injuries, playing only seven times since joining the club from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023.
A cruciate ligament injury in his left knee kept him sidelined for a year, and a subsequent hamstring injury limited his playing time.
With his contract terminated, Neymar is expected to rejoin his boyhood club, Santos.
During his time with Al-Hilal, Neymar earned a reported $104 million per year.
