The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced key dates and updates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, confirmed that the sale of application forms for the UTME will commence on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025. Direct Entry (DE) candidates will have access to application documents and e-PIN vending from March 10 to April 7, 2025.

The Mock-UTME is scheduled for April 5, 2025, while the main UTME will take place between April 25 and May 5, 2025. Candidates registering for both UTME and the mock exam will pay ₦8,200, while those opting for UTME only will pay ₦7,200. The fees cover various charges, including the application fee, reading text, and services at accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

In a significant development, JAMB has introduced a special mock UTME for candidates under the age of 16. Professor Oloyede clarified that this initiative is not for admission purposes but aims to help younger candidates assess their readiness for future exams.

For admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions, candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025.

However, exceptions may be made for candidates below 15 years who score 280 or higher in the UTME and perform exceptionally well in their Senior Secondary Certificate and post-UTME exams.
