The Rafah Crossing has reopened, allowing Palestinians to evacuate to Egypt as part of the recent hostage-ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.

The crossing will initially permit the passage of 50 injured individuals, including both militants and civilians, along with their companions.

An additional 100 people, likely students, will be allowed to cross on humanitarian grounds.

The Gaza Health Ministry has confirmed that 50 sick and wounded children, accompanied by 61 caregivers, are scheduled for evacuation.

The European Union has deployed a civilian mission to assist in the crossing’s reopening, which had been closed since May.

According to the UN, over 12,000 Palestinians in Gaza require urgent medical evacuation, including 2,500 children at risk of death.

The reopening of the Rafah Crossing is a crucial step in addressing this humanitarian crisis.
