Ogun State Governor Mourns the Passing of Alaperu of Iperu-Remo

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Alaperu of Iperu-Remo, Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo, describing his transition as a “deeply shocking and irreplaceable personal loss”.

Abiodun, a prince of the Iperu-Remo kingdom, acknowledged the inevitability of divine will, stating that he is still trying to come to terms with the news of the royal father’s passing.

He described the late monarch as a royal father, friend, and confidant, who brought peace and prosperity to Iperu-Remo kingdom, Ogun State, and Nigeria as a whole.

The governor highlighted Oba Idowu-Basibo’s impressive academic background, including his education at St. James Primary School, The Polytechnic Ibadan, University College London, Yaba College of Technology, and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.

He also praised the monarch’s distinguished career at the Customs Service in Europe, which spanned two decades.

Abiodun credited the late monarch’s reign with remarkable progress and development in Iperu-Remo kingdom, citing infrastructure development, economic advancement, and the expansion of peace and progress.

He remembered Oba Idowu-Basibo as a man of great grace who carried himself with dignity and prioritized the well-being of his people, regardless of creed or political affiliation.
