Stolen Car Recovered After Police Chase in Edo

In a swift response to crime, the Edo State Police Command has successfully recovered a Silver Toyota Yaris, registered as BEN 535 DR, which was stolen at gunpoint. The incident was reported on February 6, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM from Upper Mission Extension.

According to an official statement, “Operatives of the Okuaihe Division intercepted and pursued the car snatchers, who eventually abandoned the vehicle at Iguomon Community along Benin-Agbor Road.”

The car was subsequently taken to the police station where it was identified by its owner and returned to him. The police are still actively working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Otimenyin, praised the community’s cooperation in this matter. She stated, “If you see something, say something. Together, we can ensure a safer Edo State,” urging residents to remain vigilant and proactive in reporting suspicious activities.
