A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has adjourned the cybercrime case against traditional leader Eze Cyprian Amadi-Worenwu to March 20, 2025.

Amadi-Worenwu is facing trial for allegedly transmitting a threatening message to retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli on March 28, 2023.

The message allegedly threatened Enebeli’s life, stating that Amadi-Worenwu knew where the retired judge’s son worked and that Enebeli would not live to enjoy his retirement.

This threat was reportedly in retaliation for a judgment delivered against Amadi-Worenwu in a chieftaincy dispute on March 20, 2023.

Amadi-Worenwu was initially remanded at the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre before being granted bail after pleading not guilty.

The case was adjourned to allow both parties to finalize the terms of the settlement.

If an agreement is not reached by the next hearing, the court will proceed with the trial.
