CROSS RIVER, CALABAR – The Akamkpa Local Government Council, led by Hon. (Ophot) Felix Akposi KSJI, in partnership with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Akamkpa Branch, successfully hosted the third Solemn Assembly on March 3, 2025.
Themed “Notable Miracle,” the spiritual gathering featured Archbishop Emmanuel Gospel Isong, General Overseer of Christian Central Chapel International, Ikot Eneobong, as the guest preacher.
The event provided a platform for deep reflection, renewal, and divine assurance for Akamkpa’s development.
In his address, Hon. Akposi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development, citing the ongoing road grading project in Akamkpa II, aimed at addressing the challenging terrain of Achang Hill along the Calabar-Oban-Ekang Road.
He also announced a geophysical survey across 45 communities within the ten political wards to facilitate water projects.
On power supply, Hon. Akposi assured residents that electricity would be restored to Akamkpa and extended to Ehom in Biase before April 2025, revealing that the Governor’s approval and funding had been secured.
However, this statement was echoed by Daniel Agbor, Chief Press Secretary (CPS), who described the chairman’s leadership as a faith-driven mission focused on delivering impactful governance saying, he condemned the vandalization of transformers and urged residents to protect public infrastructure.
During his homily, Archbishop Isong emphasized the importance of light in spiritual and physical realms, calling on leaders to trust in divine intervention for Akamkpa’s transformation.
Bishop (Dr.) Martins Aquah, the CAN Coordinator, pledged that the Solemn Assembly would remain a platform for spiritual enlightenment and growth.
The 2025 Solemn Assembly reaffirmed the fusion of faith and governance, offering hope for divine and infrastructural breakthroughs in Akamkpa.
