A storm of controversy has erupted following a leaked WhatsApp group conversation in which the Senator representing Kogi West, Sunday Karimi, launched a vitriolic attack on his colleague, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central.

The attack comes in the wake of Senator Natasha’s recent petition and sexual harassment allegations filed against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

In a leaked chat obtained by Truth Live News on Friday, Karimi—an ally of Akpabio—took to the Northern Senators Forum WhatsApp group to berate Senator Natasha, going as far as likening her to “Jezebel,” while predicting jail time for her even before any judicial proceedings.

“Senators are not immune from prosecution,” Karimi wrote. “When anyone makes unsubstantiated allegations, such a personality must be packing their belongings, getting ready for jail.”

He further added in a religiously-charged tirade: “Hands joined in hands, sinners shall not go unpunished. All sinners shall burn in hell with unquenchable fire and brimstone. Remember Lot’s wife and Jezebel in the Bible. Having a big pocket will not stop you from jail.”

Karimi’s comments could be interpreted as a form of intimidation, raising fears about the safety and freedom of female lawmakers speaking out against powerful political figures.

Senator Natasha has refrained from responding to Karimi’s remarks, but her legal team has reiterated her commitment to pursuing justice through lawful and democratic means.
