The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a change in the starting date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), now scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 24, instead of the previously announced date of April 25.
In a statement released in Abuja on Saturday, JAMB spokesman Dr Fabian Benjamin explained that the adjustment was made to accommodate important engagements involving the board and its partner agencies.
Dr Benjamin also informed candidates that they can now print their notification slips, which contain vital exam information including date, time, venue, and centre location.
“Candidates are encouraged to print their notification slips beginning today, April 19,” he said. “This will give them enough time to prepare and locate their exam centres in advance.”
He further advised candidates to visit their assigned centres at least one or two days before the exam to ensure a smooth experience on the examination day.
Dr Benjamin emphasized that no candidate would be posted to centres outside their chosen examination towns, ensuring that each student sits the exam in a familiar location.
The UTME is a key requirement for gaining admission into Nigerian universities and other tertiary institutions.
