An industrial high court sitting in Abuja has ordered the federal government to embark on an upward review of judges’ salaries
The court ruled on Friday following a suit seeking an upward review of salaries of judges across the country.
A senior advocate of Nigeria, Sebastian Hon, filed the suit before the labour court to request that the pay of Nigerian judges be upwardly reviewed.
The national assembly and the National Judicial Council (NJC) had tried unsuccessfully to settle the dispute outside of court
The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission and the attorney-general of the federation were also joined as defendants.
