Two Catholic priests were reportedly kidnapped in Kaduna on Friday by gunmen.
The priests who were identified as Rev. Fr. Donatus Cleophas Sulaiman and Rev. Fr. John Mark Chietnum were whisked away at about 5:15pm from the parish rectory of Christ the King Catholic Church, Yalding Garu, Lee Local government of Kaduna State.
The Communications Director, Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Fr Chris Omotosho, made this known in a statement on Saturday.
According to him, Sulaiman is the parish priest of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Shagari Low-cost, Katsina State, Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, working in the Diocese of Sokoto.
He enjoined Christian faithfuls to join hands in praying for the safety as well as quick release of out priests.
