The Government of Zamfara state governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has ordered the immediate suspension of the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area of the state over the conferment of the Sarkin Fulani chieftaincy title on a dreaded “repentant bandit”, Adamu Aliero Yankuzo.
A committee was also set up by the governor to ascertain the reason behind the Emir’s action.
Truthlive.net had reported that the emir of Birnin Yandoto turbaned Yankuzo in with large ceremony graced by hundreds of bandits in the area a move that has since attracted wide condemnation by well-meaning Nigerians.
Members of the committee include; the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Yahaya Chado Gora as Chairman and Musa Garba as Secretary.
Similarly, governor Matawalle ordered that the District Head of ‘Yandoto Alhaji Mahe Garba Marafa should be in charge of the affairs of the emirate pending when the investigation is concluded and decisions are taken.
